FSU Rez Lakefront Park
Rez Lakefront Park is a green oasis in downtown Tallahassee. Located along the North Florida Greenway on West Tennessee Street, this park not only provides a place for recreation, but also provides wildlife a safe haven. A boardwalk leads into the park from the North Florida Greenway, and bridge over Rez Lake provides a scenic overlook. A sandy beach area provides a place to lounge, swim, play, or just relax. The park also offers ample event space and is convenient to FSU’s main campus. Stop by for a picnic or to play a game of volleyball, Frisbee, basketball, or soccer.
Looking for a place to get outside and unwind? FSU Rez Lakefront Park might be just the place—and with spring just around the corner, there’s never been a better time to enjoy its features. Located on the FSU campus, the Rez is a nature preserve that serves as a gathering spot for FSU students, faculty, staff and Tallahassee residents. Its variety of picnic areas, playgrounds, trails, a splash pad and fishing pier make it the perfect place to spend a sunny day.
Tallahassee’s Rez Lakefront Park, which opened in 2014, is much more than a place where people come to enjoy the weather, or walk their dogs. Before the park opened, the 50-acre site had been used as a landfill (replete with toxic waste), but was cleaned up and redeveloped. The renovation included new walking trails, a playground, fishing, and boat rentals—all which have helped Rez Lakefront Park become one of Tallahassee’s most desirable destinations.
Located along the scenic East Florida Greenway, FSU Rez Lakefront Park, Tallahassee, is the first park of its kind to be opened by the Florida State University. This park is known for its beautiful lakes, walking and bike trails, botanical gardens, and scenic views.
Rez Lake Park is a lovely 8-acre waterfront park in Tallahassee, Florida. It is a favorite for running, walking, biking, swimming, fishing, rollerblading, or just sitting and enjoying the view. There is even a concession stand with picnic supplies and ice cream.
FSU Rez Lakefront Park, also known as the “College of Florida,” is a strip of land that is part of the lake of the same name. The 2.2 acre plot of land is used for recreation by both FSU and the local community, and is located less than one mile from campus. Park amenities include a basketball court, a soccer field, a public boat ramp, and a public fishing pier.
FSU’s Rez Lakefront Park is one of my favorite places to be if I’m not in class. The lake front is such a beautiful place to lay out, take a dip, or just relax in peace and quiet. The park has some of the best workouts I’ve experienced, from frisbee golf, to running by the lake. The fountains and water features make it a great place for kids to play, and the park is pet friendly. The paddleboats and canoes are some of the only ways to get to the lake, so be sure to rent them before you go!
